Abstract
Through a panoramic view, this document aims to explain Emilio Duhart as a complete architect, a professional who develops simultaneously different facets in his work, being also concise and consistent with the Modern Movement principies that inspires his way. These facets, extensively analyzed, refer to Duhart as student, architec, urban planner and academic which accompanied by his writings are intended to demostrate how each one of his projects and interest try to consciously translate the ideas of the rationalist architecture to the chilean reality, achieving a harmonious and coherent adaptation to the power of the Andean country landscape and the local idiosyncrasy. Duhart is considered one of the most relevant architects of Latin America; he is directly linked to the cutting edge referents and endowed with the design skills that can bring together different scales an complexities.
