DOCOMOMO stands for Documentation and Conservation of buildings, sites and neighbourhoods of the Modern Movement. It is an international organisation set up in 1990 and its aim is to make an inventory, publicise and conserve the architectural heritage of the Modern Movement.
The Iberian DOCOMOMO foundation, based in Barcelona, coordinates the objectives of DOCOMOMO in Spain and Portugal. Since 1993, when it was created, the Iberian DOCOMOMO Foundation has carried on a large number of documentation and research activities regarding modern architecture heritage in the Iberian territories. Those include publications, online databases, exhibitions, congresses and campaigns to preserve the built heritage.
